A Makerspace is a collaborative environment where people within the community have a shared interest in making things can come together. Working on sewing projects, learn new sewing skills, and sharing resources. By A Thread Studio is a Makerspace that provides tools, equipment, and a community for makers like you to bring your creative projects to life.

Think of By A Thread Studio similar to a gym membership. Utilizing our equipment to buff up on your sewing skills without taking up space in your own home. Any maker knows how a small corner to satisfy a hobby can quickly grow and take over a room. With a monthly membership (coming soon) you can find a supportive space with all the equipment you need allowing your creativity to be sparked within the community. Group and individual classes are available to nurture your growing interest.

When you are a By A Thread Studio member (coming soon), your monthly membership will grant you all access to our studio's equipment along with the following: One free printed pattern per month* One free group class per month* *NOTE: these services do not accumulate if not used

We offer 2 types of classes: Individual: One-on-one class to teach you basic sewing skills with an ending goal for you to work independently. For more advance sewist, we offer classes that build on their skills and learn more refined skills. Examples are specific techniques, button ups, and outerwear. Group: These are more fun learning classes. The focus is less on the foundations and more on the joy of sewing. Our Sip & Sew classes offer introductory projects that are easy enough to continue engagement with your classmates while completing a project. By A Thread Studio offers group classes for intermediate sewist to learn in an encouraging environment with others.

At By A Thread Studio, you can expect to find a wide range of high-quality, handmade textile products. Our studio specializes in creating unique, one-of-a-kind items such as jackets and tops. We also offer a selection of handmade accessories, including textile belts and bags. Each item is carefully crafted, ensuring every piece is visually stunning and made to last. Using deadstock fabric or repurposed materials, we are committed to a sustainable mindset. You are sure to find something special at By A Thread Studio.

You will receive 6 hours of instructional time (split over 2 days of your choosing) during which you will complete a garment. All supplies are included EXCEPT the fabric. Once you book your time, we will send a follow up email with further instructions. The cost is $155

By A Thread Studio is currently located at 1200 Summit Ave in suite 103. This address serves as our temporary space where we hold our sewing classes. Despite being in an unconventional office space, we have transformed it into a fully functional sewing studio for group classes, as well as individual classes. We may be in a temporary location for now, but we are committed to providing top-notch sewing instruction and a welcoming environment for our students.
